Unfortunately, no iPhone Nano. Apple has just announced at WWDC in San Francisco that there will be an updated model of the ‘regular’ iPhone, the iPhone 3GS. As I already expected the updates are mostly in the software.
Summarized, the following improvements will be made:
- Very much needed longer battery life: Up to 5 hours talking time.
- It is much faster: up to 4 times faster than the ‘old’ 3G
- 3 Megapixel autofocus camera, which will also allow you to shoot film.
- Editing capabilities
- 32 gig version added
- Voice recognition
For all the laggards who are stuck with their 3G because of a 2 year subscription there is also news. A new version of the operating system will be available on june 17. Most important new features are:
- Landscape keyboard in major apps
- MMS
- Find my iPhone: This allows you to track your phone through a computer if you have lost it. You can even delete the data from your phone when it has been stolen.
- TomTom is finally coming to the iPhone for some real navigation
