I while back I wrote about the opening of the Property Of… flagship store in Amsterdam. Now that the dust has settled around this opening, they have launched a special Amsterdam edition bag. As you know us Dutchies are pretty fond of our bikes. But finding a bag that is easy to go around with on your bike and that looks good can be hard to find. Meet the Amsterdam Messenger bag. It serves as a messenger bag (obviously) and doubles as a bicycle pannier. Smart design, thats for sure.
The bag is made from touch wax-treated canvas and waterproof tarpaulin to make it Dutch-climate-proof. Only 18 pieces the Amsterdam messenger will be made, so we can assume this will be an instant collector’s item. All pieces will go on sale exclusively at Herenstraat 2 starting October 15, for €238,-.
Cool stuff.

The other day I stumbled upon photographer Jason Travis‘ project called Persona. Travis asked random people to reveal the contents of their bags. Seeing the bag-content next to its carrier creates a very interesting profile of these people. Especially when you see that some people turn out to be completely different than you’d think. Here’s some more examples.
This one is a must see. Check out the entire gallery here.

Pedaler is following in the footsteps of Outlier with their collection of good looking cycling apparel. Especially crafted for with the urban cyclist in mind they have created a comfortable and practical collection in which you can also go to work (or at least I can) and look good in your local bar. Think hoodies and t-shirts with extended sleeves and torsos, and jersey pockets on the rear. The Anorak Jacket windbreaker uses water-resistant microsuede and a slim silhouette with a hideaway hood. Also the American-made fitted shorts are made out of a stretch denim and twill, sewn with a seamless crotch.

There are also some bags in the collection, like the beautiful Pony Express Messenger. This bag is a take on the traditional pony express bag of the late 1800’s. It is made of imported English waxed tartan cotton, lined with organic cotton and trimmed with US leather. This one is also crafted for the cyclists among us, so expect the bag to stay in place right where you want it.

Available through their webshop now. Go check it out!

Now here is what we call another smart innovation. By adding inflatable air chambers to a basic surfboard bag, Nicholas Martino has improved it’s usability in multiple ways.
First of all, it protects the surfboard from damaging. Martino himself suggests that it can be filled with a light gas like helium to make it lighter to carry. (Which is a little far out if you ask me, but it possible nevertheless…).
Finally, it can also be used as an airbed, which comes in handy if you have to hike to that one sweet surfspot and sleep while waiting for that perfect wave…
