Minority Report

While the entire world is waiting for the iPad and other touchscreen computers to change our computing experience, some people have already moved on, further into the future. You’ve all seen or know the scenes from Minority Report in which computers are entirely controled by gestures. Pranav Mistry already presented us with a technology resembling it, and now Oblong Industries is going to make it happen for real with their G-speak technology. Multiple screens, 3d and all controlled by your gestures. Check out the future in the movie above.

Augmented Reality: Hyper Reality

Augmented reality is becoming bigger and bigger, thats a fact. Keiichi Matsuda has created the short movie below in which he presents his vision of the future. Really interesting, and definitely something I’ve never seen before. Check it out!

I just wonder what the device which will enable this will look like; glasses, a helmet, contact lenses or simply built into your retina?

Through Kitsune Noir.

The post I did earlier on Nokia’s vision of the future is rendered totally useless after seeing this. Check out Pranav Mistry demonstrating his SixthSence technology which will make mobile devices useless in the (near future). What an incredibly smart and inspiring man. Minority Report on the go. Amazing!

2015 According To Nokia

nokia_vision_of_2015Ever wanted to know what the future looks like? Then you’d better listen when a company like Nokia presents it’s vision of the future.

Pretty interesting stuff, although I must say that most technologies in the movie, like social networks, RSS, augmented reality and the likes already exist today and will just become smarter, get improved. The true innovation is in the intergration of all these platforms into one system.

One thing that is not in this video is the Morph concept. It was presented over a year ago but I felt I couldn’t keep from you. This concept based on nanotechnology is truly pushing boundaries. I could give you a full description of this device, but the movie below explains it all:

Rumor has it that this device could also go into production sometime around 2015. Pretty amazing, don’t you think? Now go create the future!

BMW presents the car of the future

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics

BMW has presented a new concept car, the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. Although I still have to get used to the cutting edge design, the car is pretty impressive.

The car has been entirely stripped of excess weight by using ultralight materials. This combined with a hybrid engine, this car has the same performance numbers as an M3, but without the emissions. Pretty impressive!

Check out more details on the performance and design in the movie below.
