Was the iPad presented as the savior magazines, here’s an app that will seriously undermine that position again: Flipboard. What it does is gather all the links people share you follow through social media, and present this in a magazine like format. Finally the overload of information you are bombarded with is bundled in a comprehensible manner. Just check out the movie.
Just subscribe to your favorite blogs and you don’t even need RSS feeds anymore. Can’t wait to get my hands on this!
Popular Science Magazine has put it’s entire archive, stretching back to the first issue from 137 years ago, online. Contrary to Life magazine who ‘only’ offer their entire image library online, this collaboration with Google offers us all issues just as they where published back then, including the cover artwork (which on its own is already amazing) and all the ads.
All in all it is an amazing overview. Just type in Einstein and see how he was argued against in 1922, or how it was though that an amazing hoop would be the car of the future. Everthing is there. Go check it out here!
Unless you have been living in a cave for the past few days, you probably have been overwhelmed by tributes to MJ. I haven’t posted on it on purpose, as you might have had enough of it.
Looking at all the video’s which are continuously on TV has made me realise how great this man actually was, and how massive his impact has been on the music industry. He truly was one of the greatest artists ever, and certainly the first who made an impression on me.
As a tribute Life magazine has put up a great, massive collection of pictures of the man. Go check them out here.
RIP Michael. I hope you’ve finally find some peace and quiet…
Speculation has been going on for a while about the iPhone Nano, and with a presentation of Apple coming up on the 8th of june rumors about a new iPhone are running wild.
Although it will probably just be some extra memory (32 gig), faster processors and an improved GPS antenna, there are still plenty of rumors about an iPhone Nano. The guys over at T3 have made some amazingly slick artwork on how they expect it to look. It looks so good Apple will have to take this seriously, and consider it for production. Respect to T3!
Most of my friends know I have a thing for Army jackets. That’s why I was so happy finding this post through Valet.
The good patriots at A Continuous Lean have dug up a 1941 US Military lookbook from Life Magazine archive, about which I posted earlier. Where do I order, or must I enlist? Some of the stuff I already own, but there’s definitely stuff there that would be more than welcome to boost my wardrobe!
I just found that Life Magazine has put its complete photo archive online. Millions of great pictures stretching from 1750 to today, this is an amazing database. Whether you use it for inspiration or simply browse it for fun, you must know that as soon as you enter the archive, it will set you back a couple of hours for sure!!
Be sure to send me your greatest finds, and I will make this a recurring post.
What a smart move by LIFE this is. Really. Instead of sitting on top of this archive till the end of days, they are now sharing with the world and engaging with people. This makes my marketing 2.0 heart beat a little faster. Thanks for joining the new age of marketing LIFE mag!
