Catfish

Another movie on how Facebook can change your life. Story: In late 2007, filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost sensed a story unfolding as they began to film the life of Ariel’s brother, Nev. Nev met a girl, Megan, online and they seemed to have something going. They had no idea that their project would lead to the most unsettling months of their lives.

I get a huge Blair Witch Project vibe here. Not sure what to think about it. Seems somewhat interesting. What do you think?

In a theatre near you this fall.

Currently a lot of discussion is rising on the topic whether or not social media is a fad, a hype, a bubble waiting to burst. Just check the movie below, and let me know what you think.

Be sure to check it out!

Update: Damn, this is a good documentary. You can check it out (in small pieces though) here.

RiP: A Remix Manifesto

A friend of mine tipped me about his upcoming documentary. RiP: A Remix Manifesto is a documentary film about copyright and remix culture. Check out the trailer above.

It captures the gap between companies defending the status quo and what is going on in the market perfectly.

All chapters are available here, and the full documentary is expected to be available (for free I hope!) somewhere in june…
