Web 3.0

As you know I am a bit of a sucker for new technology. And while the dust of the web 2.0 revolution hasn’t really settled yet, the smart guys have already started talking about web 3.0.
Web 2.0 was all about user generated content. In this time we have created such a tremendous amount of data that it has become hard to find the stuff you like. Just Google ‘camera review’ and you’ll see what I mean. Too much info! As I interpret this, web 3.0 will be all about linking this data, creating relationships and giving it meaning so it becomes easier to navigate. A bit like what I do here at Subtielman for you on a small scale: filter the data.
The movie below, directed by NYU Psychology and Journalism student Kate Ray, explored the topic in a comprehensible way. However, the movie tends to be on the nerdy side of life. But hey, it’s the future. Put a little effort in in!
